Steph Curry and the Finals MVP

It is still shocking that this is the one accomplishment that Steph Curry has yet to achieve.

Stephen Curry. Two time MVP (one being unanimous), All Star Game MVP, Eight time All Star, Four time 1st team All NBA, a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, etc. I can go on and on about the list of accomplishments of the great and future 1st ballot hall of famer that Steph Curry has. So much so, that I believe that he is arguably the greatest point guard of all time and a top 10 player in NBA history. But, there is one thing that mainstream media and Steph Curry haters love to hold over him that could launch him into the category of immortals. What is that you may ask? What more can a man do that has accomplished and achieved almost every illustrious award that the NBA has to offer? A NBA Finals MVP.

It is still shocking that this is the one accomplishment that Steph Curry has yet to achieve. Curry has led the Warriors to six NBA finals (including this current finals that is currently in progress) and has won three. Out of those finals I can honestly say that Steph should easily have one, potentially two. The one most used to argue against Steph is that Andre Iguodala won finals MVP in the 2015 NBA finals. In that series Steph averaged 26ppg, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and almost 2 steals. To be fair, the series was changed once Iguodala was inserted into the starting lineup. But there is no denying that the Warriors success that season and in the playoffs all started and ended with Stephen Curry, who also won league MVP that season.

The NBA Finals are where legends are made and stars are born. But those who host that two feet tall, 15.5 pound Finals MVP trophy turn into immortals and will be remembered forever. Steph has accomplished everything that an NBA player can dream of but winning a fourth ring and a Finals MVP in the post KD era will bump Steph into a top 10 player of all time.
